We are now a third of the way through the Inner Wheel year and have held a very successful Rally & Church Service. On Wednesday 19th October I welcomed Association President Phyllis and we later enjoyed a super home cooked pre-rally supper prepared, cooked and served by the ladies of my own club, Watford North. Despite being small in number, they pooled their resources and worked tirelessly to produce a delicious supper that was attended by 24 people. The following morning, the sun shone as we headed to St Mary's Church in Hemel Hempstead for the Church Service officiated by the vicar, The Rev'd Jenny Hill. There were lots of positive comments about the content and execution of the service before we transferred to Boxmoor Lodge Hotel for a delicious lunch where we were superbly looked after by Mark and his team. I was delighted that I was able to welcome 125 members and friends and appreciate the support from the District. The lovely day ended by me seeing Phyllis off on her train back to Gloucestershire. My attentions now move on to the District Meeting in November and the Charity Race Night in aid of Herts Air Ambulance. Interest in the Race Night is proving to be rather slow but I am optimistic that numbers and support will increase as we get nearer the day (26th) and that we will be able to raise a useful sum of money whilst having a fun evening. I recently received a phone call from Rotarian Iola Samuels telling me about the wonderful work of one of our members, Vicki Jesson of the Inner Wheel Club of Stevenage. I am delighted that Vicki, with her Rotary husband David is a mentor to the first Interact Club in Rotary District 1260 and that Vicki is an important member of the Interact team in Stevenage and is so highly thought of by Rotary District. This could be the start of a closer working relationship with Rotary, so lets keep up the good work and let everyone know what we do. I have visited 15 out of the 22 clubs in the District and have been made very welcome by all the members. I have enjoyed excellent friendship, fellowship and on the whole, excellent food! We have had lots of fun and laughter but have also discussed serious issues relating to the survival of Inner Wheel, membership and proposals for changes to the Constitution. I look forward to visiting the remaining clubs and although it is a little early, would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families and friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Yours in Inner Wheel friendship Judy

District 26 is just a small cog in one of the largest women’s service organisations in the world, International Inner Wheel which has representatives in the United Nations.
Our aim is simple - to make a difference to people’s lives; often in many small ways through club charity events and local voluntary work; and by working in partnerships with other Inner Wheel Districts, Rotary, and charity and voluntary organisations.
Our three objects are:
We usually have a lot of enjoyable social events when we are raising money for charity- and often just to provide opportunities for friendship. Our clubs vary in size, character, priorities and events. You will see some of the things we do on these web pages.
We come together for District meetings and conferences, such as our annual Rally, when the President of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland comes to visit us.
If you share our objectives and would like to join Inner Wheel we would love to have you. If you are related to a Rotary member it will be very easy because of our long term affiliation with Rotary clubs. If you are not related to a Rotarian you are still very welcome- and it is still easy- but the route is a bit different.
