Inner Wheel District 26 - Overseas Service Tring Rotary Club obtain Sports Equipment for School –Aid [Dec 04] |

Many
clubs in the District have provided items and some have given practical
help. Inner Wheel Clubs also continue with their support. One major contribution recently came from the Rotary Club of Tring with a wonderful donation of football equipment.
Inner
Wheel Second Vice Chairman Sandra Maizels gave a talk to the Tring Club in
her capacity as Trustee of the charity, and, as a result of a contact in
the club with Barclays Bank and the organisation Incorporate Wear, a
considerable amount of surplus football kit was donated and delivered to
the warehouse. When sorted it provided some 15 sets, each containing the
following items: 1
large trainer’s bag
There
were sufficient sets of clothing to include another full set of goalkeeper
and team clothing with each box. A different colour of course! The
photos show the equipment being sorted and packed in the current School
– Aid warehouse in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks. Thank
you Tring and all the other clubs that have given support over this past
year. What
does the future hold for School – Aid? At the end of January 2005 they
have to move from their premises and are desperately seeking a warehouse
in the same area, or nearer London. Can you help? If
you want to know more about School – Aid, have items or contacts that
may be able to support our work please contact. Les
Lee 01494 785076 or leslee@zen.co.uk The next container will leave in January for Cape Town. This will hopefully contain two pallet loads for Sparrow Village, the Berkhamsted Bulbourne Rotary Club Project and the District 26 Inner Wheel Overseas Service Project. Does
anyone know of a suitable warehouse facility?? School-Aid's website is www.school-aid.org Return to Inner Wheel Home Page
