As we approach the final quarter of the Inner Wheel year I am delighted to say that my year is going well and I have enjoyed every minute of it so far. Parts have been challenging, as we are trying to move into the 21st century with Power Point presentations and keeping the web site up to date. I am delighted to say that I have finished all 22 club visits and have attended District 13's Rally in London followed by Berkhamsted Bulbourne's 25th Charter dinner on the same day. I also attended Luton North's 40th Charter lunch. All these occasions were filled with Inner Wheel friendship and much fun and laughter. Back in November, the Race Night took place with 16 Inner Wheel members in attendance and a great deal of support from the clubs in race sponsorship and purchase of horses. It was extra special as on the night all winning owners were present to accept their prizes of Champagne & chocolates. The fish and chip supper from the local Wheathampstead 'chippy' was delicious and the evening was a total success raising £1962.40 for Herts Air Ambulance. Subsequently I was invited to a VIP launch of the new Hertfordshire fund raising office for the Air Ambulance in Buntingford and I was privileged to be able to present them with a cheque for £2000. This is an interim payment which has been passed to them along with other donations that I have collected from the clubs on my travels. So far they have had approaching £3000 which I hope will still increase a little bit as the year draws to a close. We now have the Association Conference in Bournemouth and the IIW Convention in Istanbul to look forward to in April. After we return there will be a Tea Party at Dobbies as this has been a popular gathering in the past. Last week saw the District meeting at the Salvation Army Centre and I have received a lot of positive comments about the format of the evening. I will be attending the Rotary Conference in Torquay in May where I will be doing a short presentation on Inner Wheel. I look forward to seeing some of you in Bournemouth and also hopefully we will have a good turn out for the final District meeting and AGM at the end of June, following which I will be handing over to Isobel and my year will be finished. I will be sad when it is all over as I will miss the fellowship and friendship that I have experienced in the clubs and by members, as I have attended various gatherings. Enjoy your Inner Wheel and carry on promoting Inner Wheel friendship. In friendship Judy

District 26 is just a small cog in one of the largest women’s service organisations in the world, International Inner Wheel which has representatives in the United Nations.
Our aim is simple - to make a difference to people’s lives; often in many small ways through club charity events and local voluntary work; and by working in partnerships with other Inner Wheel Districts, Rotary, and charity and voluntary organisations.
Our three objects are:
We usually have a lot of enjoyable social events when we are raising money for charity- and often just to provide opportunities for friendship. Our clubs vary in size, character, priorities and events. You will see some of the things we do on these web pages.
We come together for District meetings and conferences, such as our annual Rally, when the President of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland comes to visit us.
If you share our objectives and would like to join Inner Wheel we would love to have you. If you are related to a Rotary member it will be very easy because of our long term affiliation with Rotary clubs. If you are not related to a Rotarian you are still very welcome- and it is still easy- but the route is a bit different.
