Some
clubs knit, sew and sort stamps while having a simple meal and a natter. Others
havea social activity reflecting the friendship of members; may be a meal at a
special venue with friends, a theatre visit or ten pin bowling. The more active
members may help at a hospital or day centre or provide a tea party for needy
children. Last
year a special message was sent to all members on Classic FM, and another club
held a Seven Continents Lunch. Many clubs will light a Friendship Candle or
contact other clubs abroad to wish them well – after all, we are the original
world wide web!
